[SPM1001] DSM 3 Channel Surface System: JR R-1 - MAP PRICE

DSM 3CH Surface System: JR R-1

Calling the new Spektrum DSM System revolutionary just doesnt say it. DSM is nothing less than a quantum leap in RC technology that will change forever how racers communicate with their car or truck.

What is DSM? DSM is Digital Spectrum Modulation—a purely digital RF link between transmitter and model that is based on Direct Sequencing Spread Spectrum technology. It operates within the ultra-high 2.4GHz worldwide ISM band, provides unequalled signal resolution, and is immune to the most common forms of RF interference. It will even allow a car to “talk” back to the user. It requires no crystals and completely frees racers from ever having to monitor frequency usage again. Best of all, with Spektrums DSM System racers can literally plug this phenomenal technology into existing transmitters like the JR R-1 and Airtronics M-8.

The Spektrum DSM System Each DSM System includes a transmitter module and lightweight 3-channel transceiver. Four versions of the system will be available for use with JR, KO, Futaba/Hitec or Airtronics 3-channel module-based transmitters. Compatible radios include: - JR R-1 and R-1 Pro - Airtronics M-8 - KO Propo EX-10 Helios - Futaba 3PK - Hitec Aggressor SRX No crystals or complex modifications are required. A racer simply buys the DSM System for their transmitter, plugs in the DSM module and installs the lightweight DSM transceiver in their car. All thats left to do is spend a few seconds “binding” the transceiver to the module and the system is ready to go. Its that easy.

Why DSM is Better

Ultra-High Frequency 2.4GHz Digital RF Link Unlike current RC technology that is based on 27MHz and 75MHz analog frequencies, the Spektrum DSM System uses an ultra-high frequency 2.4GHz digital RF link between the transmitter module and transceiver. This is more than 2,300MHz higher than the closest 75MHz analog signal and about 2,100MHz higher than the most extreme RF noise. This alone makes DSM immune to glitches caused by other analog systems or RF noise from chassis vibration or ESCs. But thats just the beginning.

79 Channels—No Frequency Pins Necessary Each DSM transmitter module is assigned a discreet Global Unique Identifier (or GUID). When the DSM System is first installed the user “binds” the transceiver to their DSM modules GUID using an extremely simple setup procedure that takes seconds. From then on, theyll never have to monitor frequencies again. Anytime they switch on their DSM-equipped transmitter and the DSM transceiver, the DSM module will scan the 79-channel spectrum available to it for an open channel. When a channel has been found, the DSM transceiver, which “listens” for its modules distinct GUID, will lock on to it. In the unlikely event that all 79 DSM-channels are occupied, “collision avoidance” technology will prevent the 80th DSM system from connecting with its transceiver until a channel is free. If for some reason interference does occur, each DSM System has a built-in fail-safe mode that the user defines during the binding process.

Ultra-Fine 4,096 Step Resolution Trim steps and control inputs are exceptionally smooth and precise thanks to DSMs inherent high resolution. Its actually more like thought control than radio control.

It?s Easy to Add DSM to Any Model To use a DSM-equipped transmitter with any other car, all a racer has to do is install another DSM transceiver and bind it. There are no crystals to buy or specific frequencies to hunt for. The same DSM transceiver (SPM1200) works with all Spektrum modules.

What?s Next: Real-Time Telemetry If the prospect of never again having to buy crystals, monitor frequencies or deal with troublesome RF glitches still isnt enough, consider this. Built into every DSM transceiver is the ability to send data back to the user via the same digital RF link used to control the car. With the soon-to-be released Spektrum Telemetry Module and data display you will be able to monitor engine temperature, speed, rpm, signal strength and more, real-time. Racers will even be able to record the data and review it later on their PCs.

Calling Spektrum's DSM System 'revolutionary' just doesn't say it. DSM is nothing less than a quantum leap in RC technology that will change forever how you communicate with your car or truck.

The Spektrum DSM System The DSM System consists of a transmitter module and 3-channel receiver. Four versions of the system are available that include modules designed specifically for use with JR, KO, Futaba/Hitec or Airtronics 3-channel, module-based transmitters. No crystals or complex modifications are required. Just buy the DSM System for your transmitter, plug in the DSM module and install the lightweight DSM receiver in your car. All thats left to do is spend a few seconds “binding” the receiver to the module and youre ready to go. Its that easy.

The Spektrum DSM System provides an impenetrable digital RF link between a racer and his car that is impervious to all types of interference, including other radio systems, model generated interference or environmental interference from pagers, cell phones, etc.

Collision Avoidance- The DSM system scans the 2.4Ghz band looking for an open channel. When an unused channel is found the system locks on that channel and transmits providing the following benefits: - No more waiting for an open frequency - No need to impound the radio - Eliminates the need for a frequency board and frequency clips - Interference for other radios is a thing of the past - No crystals are needed

2.4ghz worldwide band is approved for international use. No need to change frequencies when traveling abroad

Built-in failsafe drives the servos to a preset position (usually full brakes) in the unlikely event of radio interference

The DSM system literally plugs into popular module based 3-channel transmitters allowing most racers to convert to DSM technology right away.

Short 8" receiver antenna is easy to mount

The soon-to-be-released DSM telemetry module will allow real time monitoring of head temperature, rpm, speed, battery voltage, lap time, etc.

No maintenance or tuning required (always stays in tune)

Up to 79 users can simultaneously operate DSM systems
